Step 3: Create a Newsletter Signup form Using WPForms template
It is important that you make sure that you have the WPForms Elite license before we proceed further.
WPForms has several inbuilt templates which you can make use of while creating forms but for the sake of this tutorial we are going to make use of the inbuilt Newsletter Signup form template.
Follow the below given steps to create a new donation form.
Navigate to your WordPress dashboard –> Go to WPForms –> Add New
When you click on Add new you will come across several WPForms templates choose Newsletter Signup form template from the list
Once you click on “Add New” you will come across a list of all the templates provided by WPForms. Keep scrolling until you find the “Newsletter Signup form” (shown in the below screenshot).
Once you mouseover on the Newsletter template you will come across a screen similar to the one shown below
Once you click on “Create a Newsletter Signup Form” you will come across a form similar to the one shown below. You can customize it as per your own requirements. If you want you can add additional fields from the left hand side elements bar by dragging and dropping them on the form present on the right hand side.
As we stated earlier you can customize the above form as per your requirements. Once you are done with the changes click on the Save button as you can see on the right hand side. (as shown in the above screenshot)
In the next steps we will configure the form settings
Step 4; Customize the Form Notifications
Now there are two aspects to the Form Notifications that you should be aware of
1. Once the user submits a form you should get some kind of notification that the user has submitted the form – You will get an Email notification whenever someone submits a form on your website. This is a good practice that should be followed so that you will be updated on any potential leads you get.
You will have to setup the Form notifications and provide your Email address
2. Once the user has submitted the form they should get a notification that their form has been submitted successfully.
YOu can make use of the Smart tags feature in order to send personalized email notifications to your site visitors.
Step 5: Configure the Form Confirmations
Form confirmations are a set of actions that should happen immediately and automatically once the user fills out a form. There are 3 kinds of form confirmations WPForms provides which we have enlisted below
1. Redirect – Once the user has submitted the form on your site you can redirect them to any page of your choice by utilizing the Redirect. You can take the user to any entirely different site altogether if you want.
2. Display Page – Once the user submits the form you can automatically redirect them to a display page something similar to a Thank you Page.
3. Message – This is the default message that a user gets when they submit the form on your website. You can even customize this message as per your needs.
Below we have shown an example of how you can send confirmation message to your user once they have filled out the form.
In order to create a confirmation message click on the “Confirmations Tab”
You can customize the confirmation message as per your requirement. If you want, you can redirect the user to a Thank you page and display a message by making use of the Go to URL (Redirect) option.
As an Email Marketer you should follow the best Email Marketing practices. Create a series of Emails that you would be making use like – Welcome Email, then 2nd Email would be about introducing your company/individual/ organization (remember don’t sell things here). You should be educating your audience and providing them value and then after 3rd or 4th Email you can bring your product/service into picture.
Now it’s time to Integrate Active campaign and connect the Newsletter Signup form which we just created in the earlier steps.
If you haven’t bought the Elite license of WPForms then you will not be able to make use of the Active Campaign Addon. In such cases you will come across something similar to this.
