WPForms offers several features and addons and one of those is Zapier addon using which you can connect your website forms with several web services. 

Now that we got to know about WPForms let’s go ahead and explore more about Zapier and what is it used for and how it can make your life easier by automating things.

What is Zapier and How it can automate your Business

Zapier is a powerful automation tool that allows you to connect your website and other properties with 1000+ web apps in order to automate your business and workflow so that you can utilize your time on other tasks.

You can collect data using forms on your WordPress website (WPForms is one of the best solution when it comes to creating WordPress forms). You can send this data to Zapier and then connect it with various Web apps like Salesforce or Google Sheets or whichever is the platform you wish to integrate with

Pre-requisite

You need to buy the WPForms Pro License in order to use the Zapier Addon feature as it is not available in the Free version

WPForms and Zapier Integration

Zapier allows you to send information between Zapier and WPForms within a matter of minutes without writing a single line of code. If you use several web apps for your website it’s good to have a way to connect them all and that is where Zapier comes into picture.

You can connect WPForms with Zapier even if you have no coding experience whatsoever. Zapier allows you to connect WPForms with 3000+ web apps so that you can automate your workflow

By using the Zapier addon available inside WPForms you can achieve the following 

  • Create a lead in Salesforce 
  • Get a Slack Notification (how cool is that!)
  • Create invoices on FreshBooks
  • Create a contact in HubSpot
  • Send text messages using Twilio
  • Add a Google Contact
  • Make a task in Trello or Asana
  • Add a customer in QuickBooks

If you haven’t got the WPForms Pro License we suggest that you get it by click on the below button. Only then will you be able to make use of the Zapier Add-on as the free version doesn’t support addon features. Once you upgrade to the Pro version of WPForms you will get access to all the addons inside WPForms which are powerful and can be used for various purposes.

In the following steps we would do WPForms and Zapier integration

Step 1: Install the WPForms Plugin

In order to install the WPForms plugin follow the below given steps

Navigate to your WordPress dashboard

Go to the Plugins section –> Add New

Once you click on Add New you will come across a screen. In the search box type “WPForms” and then you will come across a screen similar to this one.

Now click on “Install Now” and then Activate the Plugin

Once you are done with the activation you will be asked for the License Key

Where to find the WPForms License Key

Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard and then go to the WPForms section –> Settings

Once you click on Settings you will get a window on the right hand side. Keep on scrolling down until you find the License Key section. You will come across a screen that’s similar to the one shown below

In case you have purchased the WPForms Pro plan then you can find the license key in the account which you used to purchase WPForms subscription

The next step would be install and activate the Zapier Addon

Step 2: Install the Zapier Addon 

As stated earlier you will need to install the Zapier addon.

Navigate the WordPress dashboard–> Click on the WPForms section –> Now go to the Addons section

Once you click on Addons section you will come across a collection of all the addons provided by WPForms. Keep scrolling below on the Addons page until you come across the Zapier Addon. Now you have to install Zapier Addon.

You have to install and activate the Zapier Addon. Once the addon has been activated we need to connect it to the Zapier account.

In order to connect to the Zapier account follow the below given steps

Navigate to your WordPress dashboard –> WPForms –> Settings

Once you click on Settings you will come across a tab called Integrations. Click on it and keep scrolling down until you come across Zapier

Now click on Zapier as shown in the above screenshot. Then you will come across an API key for your website which you will need to enter later on so keep this tab open only

Make sure that you keep this tab open or copy your API key in your Notes section as we would need it in the later steps.

Now login to your Zapier account, if you don’t have one you can sign up for a Zapier account

Once you have signed up / logged in to your Zapier account then click on “Make a Zap” as shown in the below screenshot.

We need to create a Zap in order to integrate WPForms with other applications.

Once you click on “Make a Zap” then you will come across a screen similar to the one shown below wherein you will have to enter the name of your Zap and choose the app (in our case it would be WPForms)

Give an appropriate name to your Zap and then in the search Box type WPForms and then select WPForms

Once you choose WPForms and click on it you will come across a screen similar to the one shown below

Once you click on Continue you will come across a screen similar to the one shown below.

Once you click on “Sign in to WPForms” you will have to enter the API key which we had got in one of the previous steps

Note: In case you haven’t brought the Pro license then you will not have the API so if you still don’t have the Pro license of WPForms you need to buy it as you can’t execute the next steps without the Pro version

In case you already have the Pro license of WPForms you will be able to see the API key. Copy that key and paste it in the field “API Key” as shown in the above screenshot. Besides this you will also have to enter your website URL and once you have entered both these details then click on “Yes, continue”

Once you click on Continue you will come across a screen where you will be asked to choose the appropriate WPForms account.

Once you have chosen the account then click on Continue.

In the next step you need to choose the form you want to use from the dropdown

The last step in this Integration is to Find Data. This is where you can pull in sample entries in order to test your connection. In order to do this. click on Test Trigger

If after clicking Test trigger things are working properly then you should be able to see form entries populate. Then click on Continue

Click on Continue. After this Zapier will ask you to Choose App and Event to which you would like to send your form details. The next steps will be dependent on the service you choose.
